Area
Sharm El Sheikh

Sharm El Sheikh is one of the world’s great diving destinations. Warm, clear water, healthy coral and an incredible variety of marine life — from turtles and rays to huge schools of fish — make every dive memorable, whether it is your first breath underwater or your hundredth logged dive.

  1. Options for every level

    • Introductory dive: no experience needed; an instructor guides you on a shallow dive after a short briefing
    • Diving courses: start or continue your certification with internationally recognised training
    • Day boats for certified divers: two or three dives at sites such as Ras Mohammed, Tiran or the famous reefs of the coast
    • Wreck diving: experienced divers can explore the legendary SS Thistlegorm on a long day trip
  2. How we help

We work with licensed dive centres that offer multilingual instructors and well-maintained equipment. Tell us your experience level, certification and the dates you want to dive, and we match you with the right centre and programme, including hotel pick-up. Certified divers should bring their certification card and logbook. Remember not to fly within 24 hours after diving, so plan your dive days early in your holiday.

Can I dive in Sharm El Sheikh without experience?

Yes. An introductory dive lets complete beginners try scuba diving safely with an instructor at a shallow depth. You will learn the basics in a short briefing, then explore a reef while the instructor stays beside you. Many guests enjoy it so much that they start a full course during the same holiday.

What are the best dive sites near Sharm El Sheikh?

Ras Mohammed National Park, with sites such as Shark and Yolanda Reef, and the four reefs of the Straits of Tiran are the classics. Experienced divers also travel to the SS Thistlegorm wreck. Your dive centre chooses the sites each day based on conditions and the group’s experience.

Can I fly right after diving?

No. Divers are generally advised to wait at least 24 hours after their last dive before flying, and longer after multiple dive days. Plan your diving early in the holiday and keep the last day for the beach or a dry excursion such as a city tour. Your dive centre will give you exact guidance.

Do I need my own diving equipment?

No. Dive centres rent full equipment, including wetsuit, BCD, regulator and fins. Many experienced divers prefer to bring their own mask and computer for comfort. If you bring your own gear, tell us so the dive centre can prepare accordingly, and check your airline’s baggage allowance.
